Experience and fields of specialization
Fabrice Mourlon Beernaert’s main areas of practice include corporate and securities law, energy law, bankruptcy law, as well as mergers and acquisitions and life science related matters.
Fabrice also represents and assists national and international clients in a variety of litigation matters, both before the ordinary Belgian courts and the administrative Belgian courts, and has been involved in various arbitration matters. Past litigation included corporate matters (including shareholders disputes), energy, logistics & distribution, directors’ liability, product liability, bankruptcy, lease and general commercial issues.
He also assists clients vis-à-vis industry regulators and other public bodies.
Fabrice regularly advises controlling families, high profile individuals and non-profit organizations.

Fabrice Mourlon Beernaert received his J.D. (“Licence en droit”), magna cum laude, from the University of Brussels – ULB in 1992.
He holds a master (magna cum laude) in economic law (“Licence spéciale en droit économique”) from the same university (1994).
French, English and Dutch.
Fabrice Mourlon Beernaert serves as Deputy Judge to the Brussels Commercial Court since 2004.
In 1994, he received the first prize in the Belgian national legal service competition.
Fabrice also holds a « certificat de réussite de l’examen organisé conformément à l’article 478, alinéa 2, du Code judiciaire », allowing him to be a candidate attorney to the Supreme Court of Belgium.
Fabrice Mourlon Beernaert occupies the function of “lecturer-assistant professor” at the University of Brussels – ULB since 1997 and teaches general civil law and contract law and since 2000 also commercial law.
Fabrice has authored and co-authored several publications in the field of corporate and finance law, mergers and acquisitions, litigation, the law of evidence and sale & purchase agreements.
